Baltic Pastoral Institute (www.pbiriga.lv) and the Union of Baptist Churches in Latvia in cooperation with Acts 29 (www.acts29network.org) announces the first Baltic interdenominational church planting conference April 29 - May 1, 2010 We want to teach our people about church planting and foster their understanding of church planting and involvement in it both in Latvia and the Baltic region. Our hope is to start a series of annual church planting conferences in Latvia and invite people from other denominations and countries. IZaicināJUMS involves a word play in Latvian and at least three words are hidden there: "Izaicinājums" means CHALLENGE "aicinājums" means CALLING, INVITATION "jums" means "for, to you" Thus we see the conference as a CHALLENGE to find YOUR CALLING and respond to it. The CHALLENGE to plant churches is a CHALLENGE for every Christian. Areas of church planting to be discussed at the conference: 1. Our Message: Centrality of the Gospel: Christ, Community, God's Power and Purpose Preaching the Mission The Role of Prayer and the Holy Spirit in Church Planting 2. Leader among Leaders: Leadership Team in Church Planting Biblical Qualifications of Leaders Leader and His Family: How to Lead Your First Church Spiritual Leadership: Prophet, Priest, King 3. Our Mission: Conference speakers: Caesar Kalinowski (USA) and Jonny Woodrow (Great Britain). Caesar Kalinowski is a church planter and one of the Elders in Soma Communities. He is a spiritual entrepreneur and an avid storyteller. His background includes communications, media production, working with youth, and extensive travel in international missions. He owned and operated several businesses in and around the Chicagoland area, then served as a pastor before moving to Tacoma in 2004 to help launch Soma. Caesar has a Master's Degree in Ministry in the area of Global Leadership. He has been married to Tina, his high school sweetheart, for 26 years; they have three children, Caesar, Christin and Justine. Dr. Jonny Woodrow is a church planter with The Crowded House in the UK.
